About Jutta Erika Wollenburg
I am a micropaleontologist with a focus on the polar, preferably the Arctic Ocean. Objects of study are mainly foraminifera but also other microfossils and cryogenic minerals. I am a taxonomist and turn to both biological and geological topics in my research. I maintain high pressure aquaria for the cultivation of deep-sea foraminifera under in situ pressure, but also use these instruments for precipitation and solution experiments.

The majority of paleoceanographic proxies uses calcareous microfossils as source. In the Arctic Ocean these microfossils are often altered by authigenic calcite overgrowth, this has an significant impact on the reliability of such proxies
