About Melissa Boswell

Dr. Melissa Boswell is a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford University in the Neuromuscular Biomechanics Laboratory, where she received her PhD in Bioengineering. She is passionate about measuring mobility as a biomarker, motivating movement, and increasing access to health care through data-driven digital tools. Her research bridges advancements across bioengineering, psychology, and computer science to understand and tackle significant problems in human health.  She values human-centered design and a holistic, lifestyle-focused approach to engineering and medicine. She also enjoys cultivating creativity and humor in work and life, sharing ideas, and communicating science, particularly on her podcast, Biomechanics On Our Minds.
