Three-dimensional covariance-map imaging of molecular structure and dynamics on the ultrafast timescale
Three-dimensional covariance-map imaging is a new technique with the potential for determining structures of gas-phase molecules on timescales fast enough to track chemical changes and record ‘molecular movies’ of chemical reactions.

In our Nature Communications paper on “Hardening in Au-Ag Nanoboxes from Stacking Fault-Dislocation Interactions”, we use colloidal synthesis techniques to make metallic nanoboxes of ~100 nm in size, and study their intriguing mechanical behavior using in-situ SEM, in-situ TEM and MD simulations.
