Coastal Resilience
In this cross-journal Collection, we bring together studies that collectively inform our understanding of coastal resilience.
What is this collection about?
Coastal resilience is the capacity of coastal natural and socio-economic systems to withstand, adapt to, and recover from disturbances whilst maintaining their essential functions. As climate change, sea-level rise, and coastal development intensify risks, understanding resilience is increasingly important.
In this cross-journal Collection, we bring together studies that collectively inform our understanding of coastal resilience. These contributions examine how natural processes, hazards, and anthropogenic pressure interact to shape the capacity of coastal systems to cope with environmental change, from drivers of risk to adaptation responses and future trajectories.
Why is this collection important?
This Collection supports and amplifies research directly related to the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goal 11, 13, 14 and 15 – Sustainable Cities and Communities, Climate Action, Life below Water, and Life on Land.
Why submit to a collection?
Collections like this one help promote high-quality science. They are led by In-House Editors who are experts in their fields and supported by a dedicated team of Commissioning Editors and Managing Editors at Springer Nature. Collection manuscripts typically see higher citations, downloads, and Altmetric scores, and provide a one-stop-shop on a cutting-edge topic of interest.
Who is involved?
This is a cross-journal Collection involving Nature Communications, Nature Geoscience, Communications Earth & Environment, Communications Sustainability, npj Natural Hazards, and npj Ocean Sustainability. Authors are welcome to submit to any of the participating journals. All manuscripts published in the collection are hosted on a dedicated nature portfolio portal, giving articles high visibility beyond the journal they are published in.
How can I submit my paper?
