This week marks five years since Scientific Data published its first Data Descriptor.

To celebrate, we have created a special 5th anniversary page, showcasing the history, successes and milestones of the journal over its first five years. Discover how Scientific Data has revolutionised the landscape of FAIR data and open science:

Read our story

In addition to our anniversary web page, we have also published a new editorial giving some more context to the Scientific Data’s current standing and a brief outline of the road ahead.

Five years later, the journal still proudly upholds the core principles it was founded on. We are deeply proud of the community that has sprung up around the journal, and we are committed to ensuring that it continues to uphold and advance the principles of FAIR data and open science

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the early life of the journal, and will continue to contribute in the years to come.
