About Craig Wood
Craig Wood is a teacher, researcher, writer and unionist, and has worked in public schools for over two decades.
I am currently the Researcher Officer for the Queensland Teachers’ Union of Employees, Australia. In my role, my interests include school funding; education policy and legislation; curriculum and pedagogy; initial teacher education and continuing professional development; and behaviour and occupational violence.
My publications include The Crystallizing Teacher (Palgrave) that applies Freirean conscientization and critical praxis research to inquire into the impact of neoliberalism and whiteness on curriculum, pedagogy, and teacher training in Australia. The Crystallizing Teacher embraces curiosity, creativity and criticality, and is a performative and critical autoethnographic investigations into praxis, drawn from the use of mystories. I have also published in International Journal of Multicultural Education and Departures in Critical Qualitative Research. My ten letters to Paulo Freire, co-written with Jennifer Martin, PhD, are published in Radically Dreaming (DIO Press).
