Functional hints from elusive motifs

Protein macromolecular assemblies can create multimeric enzymes that play key functions on cellular processes, from protein synthesis and degradation to metabolism. We revealed that a highly flexible loop that take place inside the large TET2 aminopeptidase chamber, plays a central role on define the catalytic activity of this challenging enzyme.
