Cross-sector collaboration among policymakers, industry, researchers, and citizensaccelerates innovation and scaling of solutions for healthy, low-carbon, and climate-resilienturban futures and innovation.

Hasan Dilbas
I am Hasan Dilbas, an associate professor of civil engineering at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University. My expertise focuses on construction materials, concrete technology, and in particular recycled aggregate concrete and sustainable use of construction and demolition waste, also geopolymer.
I work on the mechanical, physical, and durability properties of concrete, the behavior of innovative and eco‑friendly cementitious materials, and the optimization of mixture designs for different performance levels. Also, I work extensively on the properties of sustainable and green concrete (geopolymer and recycled aggregate concretes), their fracture mechanics, and the development of environmentally responsible and high‑performance cementitious materials. The material behaviour if intended to use in structures are the another topic researched. Modular construction technologies are included in the expertise.
I actively collaborate on multinational and multidisciplinary projects and contribute as an author, reviewer, and editor in national and international journals, aiming to support high‑quality, impactful, and environmentally responsible engineering research.
I currently lead seven international research groups, where I collaborate with researchers from various countries on innovative and sustainability‑oriented engineering projects. I actively invite researchers and graduate students to join these groups, contribute to ongoing studies, and develop new collaborative projects.
