Behind the Paper
The real stories behind the latest research papers, from conception to publication, the highs and the lows
Looking for the origin of one of the largest Mediterranean tsunamigenic earthquakes : Amorgos, July 9th, 1956, Greece.
In the past few years, marine geologists have new eyes to capture seafloor in detail! Different types of deep-sea vehicles can now map the sea bed, at resolutions never reached before, and in particular with new imaging techniques. And this is the starting point of the story behind our paper.
Towards industry-ready additive manufacturing: AI-enabled closed-loop control for 3D melt electrowriting
The study “Towards industry-ready additive manufacturing: AI-enabled closed-loop control for 3D melt electrowetting” was published in Communications Engineering. It shows that machine learning can automate MEW operations and create an effective closed-loop control system.
Humans, sea slugs, kidney cells: we all learn the same way
Our new study shows that non-neural cells can count, tell time, and store complex information.
A genotype imputation reference panel specific for native Southeast Asian populations
We developed a “Southeast Asian Specific Reference Panel”. When imputing the native SEA and the SGVP datasets, this panel produced more high confidence variants, better estimated quality scores, higher recall and non-reference disconcordance rates as opposed to other public reference panels.
MSK-CHORD: an AI-enabled, 24,950-patient clinicogenomic dataset for cancer research
AI annotation, tumor genomic profiling, and combination of other siloed datasets enables creation of a clinicogenomic, harmonized oncologic real-world dataset (MSK-CHORD). MSK-CHORD allows for study of cancer genotype-phenotype relationships at a scale previously impossible.
Making multispecific capacity of antibodies into a precision medicine tool
Behind the scenes of our work to adapt an agonistic antibody with any type of drug cargo in order for us to improve the impact on the immune system and thereby therapeutic efficacy.
