Photoinduced Decatungstate-Catalyzed [3+2] Cycloaddition of Internal Alkynes Using Aliphatic Aldehydes as a Three-Carbon Synthon
In contrast to the prevalence of 1,3-dipolar cycloadditions, radical [3+2] annulations of alkynes are underexplored. Here, the authors describe [3+2] cycloadditions of various internal alkynes with readily accessible aliphatic aldehydes via photoinduced decatungstate catalysis.
Tracking chemical coherence in condensed media
cis-stilbene is a photochemical prototype for cis-trans olefinic photoisomerisation. In our recent work, we show that this process maintains coherence throughout the reaction path, even in liquid-phase. This has interesting implications for the evolutionary favourability of this reaction in biology.
Understanding the photogenerated hole traps in metal-organic-framework-based photocatalysts
We report a ternary MOF-based photocatalyst Pt@NH2-UiO-66/CdS with a spatially separated structure for the hole-trap transfer pathway in the photocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction processes.
