China’s Clean Air Action plans promote ecosystem productivity
In this study, we found robust recovery of terrestrial productivity from reducing both aerosols and surface ozone due to the implementation of China’s Clean Air Action, emphasizing the dual benefits of air pollution control for improving public health and achieving carbon neutrality in China.
Roles of Cu(I) in H2O activation for electrocatalytic reduction of CO2 to C2+ compoundsCO2
Copper is the promising catalyst for CO2 electrocatalytic reduction to ethylene and ethanol, but the working state of Cu is under dispute. The operando spectroscopy confirms the presence of Cu+ in a nanocomposite during CO2RR. The catalyst with Cu+ promotes H2O activation, enhancing C2 formation.
Selective 1,3-butadiene production from acetylene using partially oxidized copper catalysts
1,3-butadiene, the key component in making synthetic rubbers, is usually produced as a by-product from the thermocatalytic cracking of naphtha. We have found that 1,3-butadiene can be produced with selectivities of up to 93 % via the environmentally sustainable electrolysis of acetylene.
Coastal Vulnerability Assessment Using an Integrated Approach
Coastal vulnerability, exacerbated by climate threats and urbanization, is critical. This study assesses coastal region susceptibility to environmental and disaster impacts, underscoring the importance of regular vulnerability assessments for effective mitigation strategies.
