Identification of an effective and rapidly degradable disinfectant from disinfection byproducts
We report an effective and rapidly degradable alternative to the widely used disinfectant, chloroxylenol. The newly identified disinfectant has the potential to address the dilemma that disinfectants face in balancing human biosecurity and environmental sustainability.
Weightless flows in reactors
It is ever-present on Earth: Gravity shapes our environment and its physics, chemistry, and biology. It also affects the mixing of two flowing and reacting liquids. To separate the effect of gravity from other mixing effects, the experiment CDIC-4 was launched into space aboard a rocket.
In situ copper photocatalysts triggering halide atom transfer of unactivated alkyl halides for general C(sp3)-N Couplings
One of the interests in our research group is focused on developing a single-metal photocatalyst that can perform dual roles of light-harvesting and metal catalysis.
Blind Color Image Watermarking Using Deep Artificial Neural Network Using Statistical Features
This paper presents a methodology for copyright protection and authorship of digital contents for smart city. In order to achieve a balance between imperceptibility and robustness a robust watermarking scheme is proposed using deep artificial neural network (DNN) and lifting wavelet transform(LWT).
Change of El Niño onset location around 1970
A marked interdecadal shift of El Niño onset location occurred around 1970, that is, El Niño started its warming in eastern Pacific before 1970 but in western Pacific after 1970. The current study reveals the role of the interdecadal mean state change in causing the El Niño onset location shift.
Sex Differences in Fitted Face Mask Performance
“Have you ever noticed your mask leaking air around your nose or fogging up your glasses?”
To briefly describe a central study motivation, we asked participants this simple question before they undertook mask fit testing at the EPA Human Studies Facility located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA.
